Acupuncture
The Green Room’s newest addition, Wendy Mark, is a practitioner of traditional Chinese medicine, including acupuncture, Chinese medical massage, Japanese shiatsu, Chinese herbal consultations and nutritional counsel. A Boston native, she graduated from the University of Michigan (with a B.S. in Economics) and then Southwest Acupuncture College (with an M.S. in Oriental Medicine) in Colorado.
Getting our bodies back in tune and restoring harmony is what acupuncture and Chinese medicine have been about for 4,000 years. Whether it’s dealing with substance and alcohol addiction, arthritis, asthma, endocrine, circulatory and systemic conditions or depression, digestive trouble, headaches and migraines, lower-back pain, PMS, reproductive problems, smoking cessation or just plain stress, acupuncture helps. Both the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and the World Health Organization (WHO) recognize acupuncture as an effective treatment for all of these conditions and more. As a matter of fact, medical doctors refer patients to acupuncturists more often than any other alternative-care provider.
Wendy is a Colorado-licensed acupuncturist and a certified Chinese herbalist, and she is nationally board certified as a Diplomate of Oriental Medicine by the National Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM). Wendy has a special interest in supporting oncology patients and their families in discovering and maintaining their optimal health, as well as in assisting people dealing with chronic pain, addiction and recovery. Before choosing to study Oriental medicine, Wendy managed an orthopedic spine specialist’s New York City office. She is passionate about making acupuncture accessible and affordable in Colorado.
